Teaching assistants support the class teacher to enhance learners\u2019 progress and development either in groups or individually working within a framework of national legislation regarding safeguarding and other policies and procedures.<\/p>\n
They ensure that learners understand their work, know their learning objectives, and display positive learning behaviours, using a range of strategies in order to make progress.<\/p>\n
Teaching Assistants may support learners with special educational needs and disabilities and learners with social, emotional, and mental health vulnerabilities.<\/p>\n
Teaching Assistants will also work in partnership with teachers and other professionals within the school and education system, as well as with learners\u2019 parents or carers.<\/p>\n

The course is delivered on-site or online by an allocated personal tutor.<\/p>\n
Learners will develop their knowledge skills and behaviours through monthly workshops and 20% off-the job-training to\u00a0 support the class teacher and enhance the learning of the pupils.<\/p>\n
Additional 1-1 support sessions will also be available as required. All apprentices must spend a minimum of 12 months on-programme.<\/p>\n
