Team leader or Supervisor

Occupational Profile  

A Team leader or ​supervisor is a first line management role, with operational and project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome.

They provide direction, instructions and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals.

Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities will vary but are likely to include supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems, and building relationships internally and externally.

Course Overview and Structure

The course is delivered on-site or online by an allocated personal tutor.

Learners will develop their knowledge skills and behaviours through monthly workshops and 20% off-the job-training to  manage teams and projects to meet private, public or voluntary organisation’s goals.

Additional 1-1 support sessions will also be available as required. All apprentices must spend a minimum of 12 months on-programme.

End Point Assessment consists of

  • portfolio of evidence, work based project and interview

Entry Requirements

English and Maths at level 2, (can be completed alongside the apprenticeship)

Duration

  • 12 months

Progression & Professional Alignment

On completion, apprentices may choose to register as

  • Associate Members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of leadership and management, to support their professional career development and progression.
